This week, the boys bring their series on education to a close by looking at E.L. Thorndike’s Laws of Learning. As an educator, it is important to understand the characteristics of the learning process and these laws help us construct our classes and better mold it to the needs of the students. Join your hosts J. I. Mott Toao and B.C. Schwartz Sr for this scholarly look at education.

Great show. As I listened I found myself wondering if we were confusing the application of concepts though.. You frequently referenced military training and techniques. That is fine but often the goal of military training goes far beyond developing individual skills to accomplishing secondary objectives of developing a specific mindset, or socializing individuals into a larger ethos and teamwork frame of mind. That certainly has applications in developing teams but I am not sure how it applies to more typical scuba training pipeline where we are focused on developing individual skills rather than a cohesive team with a standardized mindset.
